Artist in Conversation: Ben Venom & Laura Camerlengo

FREE | Let us know you're coming

Join us for an inspiring evening with Ben Venom, our new Artist in Residence, in a conversation moderated by Laura Camerlengo, Curator-in-Charge of Costume and Textile Arts at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

Ben’s work fuses the bold aesthetics of rock and roll with the meticulous craft of quilting, transforming salvaged fabric, denim, band T-shirts, and bandanas into striking textile art. Ben is the creator of our stunning 30’ x 15’ custom stage curtain—a masterpiece blending stained glass inspiration with traditional quilt patterns, crafted over two months from salvaged fabric, denim, band T-shirts, and bandanas.

Laura Camerlengo brings her expertise in costume and textile history to this discussion, exploring the intersections of material culture, craft, and contemporary art.

The conversation will be followed by a celebratory reception honoring Ben’s residency and his newest work at Little Saint.
