While sheltering in place in Healdsburg more than a few years ago, Laurie and her husband Jeff had the idea and the opportunity to create a vegan restaurant featuring workshops and programming that champion culinary, performing and visual artists, craftspeople, writers, farmers and environmental stewards of all kinds. With a little help from a lot of friends, Little Saint and Little Saint Farm were born.

Before that and ongoing, Laurie is a mother, a producer, a quiet activist. She grew up in Darien, Connecticut, graduated from Duke University where she met Jeff. They married and eventually became heavily involved in the business of raising three human beings.

She co-founded the Bird School of Music in San Francisco in 2000. Laurie has worked with non profits that focus on animal rights, environmental causes, arts and education. In 2017, she was an Executive Producer of Loving Vincent, an Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Feature.

Laurie and Jeff spend much of their spare time in Lourmarin, France with family and friends.
